Mexico.

The official name of the country is ‘The Mexican United States.’ The country consists of 31 states and a federal district. It ia a federative presidential republic. It is situated in North American continent to the south of the USA. The climate in the country is tropical and subtropical. The population of Mexico is more than 133 million people. More than 92% of Mexicans speak Spanish. The currency in the country is Mexican Peso.  77% of Mexicans live in town and 23% live in the country.

Football and horse racing are the most popular sports. The people of Mexico are very friendly. The food is excellent, too! The restaurants serve delicious local food like tortillas and frijoles (beans). Millions of tourists visit the country each year.

The capital of Mexico is Mexico City one of the world’s largest cities. It has got beautiful old and new buildings, a lot of green parks, theatres, cinemas, museums. It’s a great place to visit.

Many people live in beautiful houses with gardens. Others live in blocks of flats near the city centre.

Mexico City is a difficult city to drive because of the heavy traffic. The city’s fantastic metro network has 11 lines and is very cheap. There are hundreds of buses, trolley buses and minibuses, too.

In their free time, Mexicans go shopping at colourful street markets. They also enjoy going to the cinema and theatre. They even have street parties and world famous bright colourful carnivals.
