Harvard professor of symbology Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks) wakes up in a hospital in Florence. He does not remember how ended up in Italy, and he was wounded. When there is a laser pointer that projects the image of hell from Dante’s poem, «The Divine Comedy.» Marks in the picture indicate the victim a few days earlier biotechnology millionaire Zobrist (Ben Foster). He was hiding from the authorities, as was developing biological weapons for the radical reduction of the world’s population. Langdon realizes that in his hands the key to the location of the bomb Zobrist. Together with a female doctor Sienna Brooks (Felicity Jones) Professor rushes in search of deadly devices. He does not trust the authorities, as the attempts to contact them lead to the exit of the killer on his trail.
